Miscellaneous applications can be added to OBELIX in the directory /lsoft1/asterix/obelix/misc.
This is useful for small bits of code which require compiling and installing for the various platforms.
Here is a simple example to place the application mycode.f into OBELIX (assumed to be a stand-alone
ASTERIX program),
-
cd /lsoft1/asterix/obelix/misc # move to the correct directory
-
cp user/src/myprog.f # copy over the source code
-
ci myprog.f # check-in the source to the RCS directory, supply an ID string
-
vi appgrp.config # add in the file dependency to F_APPLIC
-
GEN_make appgrp.config # build a new Makefile with the extra dependency included
-
mk rebuild # remove any old built files and re-build the package
The Makefile can be editted by hand if the GEN_make script does not produce
a workable version, though any changes thus added are liable to be lost.
