Every application which changes data in any way must make an entry in the HISTORY structure associated with those data. Adding to the history is simply a matter of making calls to standard routines, but the programmer must decide what gets entered. As a minimum the application name and version number must be entered. Also, where possible, the values of all significant parameters should be included.
