These standards relate to programs written or modified for the new X-ray analysis suite. Programs written from scratch should comply with the points in both the 'Immediate' and 'Eventual' categories. Whereas routines which already exist and are imported into ASTERIX need initially only be modified to comply with the 'Immediate' requirements, and can gradually be brought into line with 'Eventual' requirements as time permits in the future.
