FITS data units where CONTENT has the value "IMAGE" are
recognised as primitive arrays. The size of the $i^{th}$ dimension is
given by the value of keyword \verbNAXIS+i. Note that proper images
will generally have a natural class of BinDS or XYimage due to the
presence of axis values and other ancillary information.
