Calibration Data

The effective area and detector response matrix information is currently read from SDF calibration files. plotxy can be used to plot SDF information.

eg. The approximate relationship between pulse height channel and energy for the PSPC is E=(Ch.No.) / 100 keV, e.g. channel 100 is approximately 1.0 keV.

To plot the relative vignetting on-axis against that at 15 arcminutes:

    plotxy $AST_ETC/pspcb_eff.effar_1 $AST_ETC/pspcb_eff.effar_4

Plots of the vignetting function are given in Figures 5 & 6. The vignetting function is defined at fourteen different off-axis angles from 0-60 arcminutes.
