SDATA

Sets up file of data object names for fitting of multiple datasets. A sequence of up to 32 dataset names (! to terminate) is accepted from the user and references to them are written into reference data object. This is assigned to global parameter FIT_DATA, so as to be picked up automatically by subsequent applications.

In the case of some instruments (such as the EXOSAT ME) multiple spectra are collected simultaneously by a bank of detectors. These may be stored in a single 2D array within a dataset of type SPECTRAL_SET. Where such a dataset is entered SDATA allows the user to specify which particular component spectra are to be used. These are then treated as completely independent spectra by subsequent software.

The optional keyword SHOW used in conjunction with a dataset previously created using SDATA will display a list of contents.
