GW Astrophysics

The Gravitational Wave Group at the University of Birmingham is part of a world wide effort of scientists searching for Gravitational Waves. Gravitational Waves have only been detected indirectly but over the next five to ten years we hope to directly detect Gravitational Waves using ground based interferometers and pulsar timing arrays. When we directly detect Gravitational Waves we will be able to use them to do Astrophysics research, learning about the sources of these waves, such as Black Holes and Neutron Stars.
