RAS NATIONAL ASTRONOMY MEETING 2005
TUESDAY 5 APRIL TO FRIDAY 8 APRIL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM
1ST MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT
The Royal Astronomical Society National Astronomy Meeting 2005, in conjunction with the UK Solar Physics Meeting, will be held from Tuesday, 5 April to Friday, 8 April 2005 at the University of Birmingham.
The RAS NAM 2005 is supported by the Royal Astronomical Society, the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) and the University of Birmingham.
The meeting is expected to attract over 300 professional astronomers from the UK and overseas.
Sessions will feature recent research on a wide range of astronomical topics. This year there is a strong focus on cosmology and high energy astrophysics. Topics under discussion will include the history of star and galaxy formation, the distribution of dark matter, gravitational waves, life in the Universe, the active Sun and planetary probes.
Media representatives are cordially invited and press room facilities will be available from 9 a.m. on Tuesday, 5 April through to 1 p.m. on Friday, 8 April. Media registration is free.
