With funding from the Institute of Physics, Ogden Trust and Institute of Gravitational Wave Astronomy, the University of Birmingham Astrophysics and Space Research Group is now operating a 5.5m inflatable planetarium bought from Main Sequence Projection Domes.
As part of our active programme of public engagement with research, we present custom shows developed by our researchers alongside standard fulldome movies. Currently this includes a catalog of movies provided by NSC Creative and the European Southern Observatory and our very own show Galaxies: The Home of a Billion Suns.
The planetarium will be coming soon to our regular Astronomy In the City events.
In addition, we recently supported the Institute of Physics at The sixth edition of the Malvern Festival of Innovation. We are able to support other science fairs and outreach festivals where appropriate, please do get in touch.
