12th Birmingham-Nottingham Extragalactic Workshop 2nd Announcement AGN: populations, parameters and power University of Birmingham September 27-28, 2010 Dear all You are receiving this email because you agreed to attend this meeting, and have been accepted as a participant, or we requested you to attend. Apologies for an impersonal e-mail. Just checking that we are in your diary- we hope you will be able to come. We are trying very hard to accommodate all the talk requests we have had. We believe we will be able to fit everybody in, though we might have to give you a shorter time slot than you requested. All poster requests are approved. We are hoping to keep at much time for discussion as possible in the somewhat limited time we have available. We hope to have the schedule ready by the end of the month, and it will be available on http://www.sr.bham.ac.uk/workshop/, and we will send you another mail to tell you when it's up. You can also download a copy of our conference poster from this site- please put a copy on a board at your department. We are anticipating a lively and stimulating meeting. The workshop registration fee will be GBP 60 per participant, to be paid by cash or cheque (not credit card, I'm afraid) on arrival at the meeting. This covers two lunches, tea/coffee plus a meal at a local Indian restaurant on the Monday evening. We're sorry we have no financial support for this meeting to enable us to subsidise individuals. A list of local hotels and guest houses with prices and contact details is available via the conference website, and it will be enlarged and updated. Participants are advised to soon book their overnight accomodation for Monday Sept 27, since the workshop is scheduled a week before term starts, and accommodation near the University may get booked up early. Best wishes, Somak Raychaudhury (On behalf of the organising committee) List of non-Birmingham participants to whom this e-mail is being sent: Omar Almaini (Nottingham) Alfonso Aragon-Salamanca (Nottingham) Arif Babul (Victoria) Asa Bluck (Nottingham) Ulisses Barres de Almeida (Durham) Philip Best (Edinburgh) Mark Birkinshaw (Bristol) Richard Bower (Durham) Emma Bradshaw (Nottingham) Judith Croston (Southampton) Chris Done (Durham) Elizabeth Dodd (Hertfordshire) Andy Fabian (Cambridge) James Falder (Hertfordshire) Nikos Fanidakis (Durham) Rob Fender (Southampton) Martin Hardcastle (Hertfordshire) Susanne Heidenreich (Southampton) Ryan Hickox (Durham) Judith Ineson (Southampton) Anna Kapinska (Southampton) Sugata Kaviraj (Imperial) Louise Ker (Edinburgh) Sadegh Khochfar (MPE) Martin Krause (MPE) Claudia Lagos-Urbina (Durham) Ian McHardy (Southampton) Alejo Martinez-Sansigre (Portsmouth) Beatrice Mingo (Hertfordshire) Andrew King (Leicester) Ken Pounds (Leicester) Chris Power (Leicester) Sandra Raimundo (Cambridge) Steve Rawlings (Oxford) Emma Rigby (Nottingham) Nicholar Seymour (MSSSL/UCL) Stas Shabala (Oxford) Chris Skipper (Southampton) Clive Tadhunter (Sheffield) Henry Tillson (Oxford) Katherine Tugwell (MSSSL/UCL) Michael Wise (Astron) Diana Worrall (Bristol) ------------------------------------------------------------------ on behalf of the organising committee workshop@star.sr.bham.ac.uk www.sr.bham.ac.uk/workshop/ ------------------------------------------------------------------
