Andrzej Gibiec (3rd from left) was awarded the title of Doctor of Physical Science at a ceremony in Collegium Novum at the Jagiellonian University, Cracow on 5th November, 2012. Andrzej is a member of the X-ray Binaries Group at Birmingham, and carried out his Ph D work as a collaborative project between the two Universities.
	The degree was conferred by Dr Hab Monika Balucinska-Church shown together with the other Ph D supervisors.
	The degree was conferred in Latin: "... scientiarum physicarum doctorem creo, omniaque doctoris iura ac privilegia in te confero ..."
	The new doctors together with the Pro-Rector Prof. Stanislaw Kistryn and the Dean of Science Prof. Andrzej Warczak.
