CLoGS: The Complete Local-Volume Groups Sample

The first statistically complete survey of galaxy groups observed in the X-ray, optical and radio wavebands. A project led by Ewan O'Sullivan at Birmingham and motivated by the importance of establishing a statistically complete local reference sample of galaxy groups which is well studied at X-ray, optical and radio wavelengths. Such a nearby sample is ideal for studying cosmic feedback since galaxy groups are uniquely sensitive to gas heating and cooling but are hard to study in detail, as they are faint and have rather few galaxy members.

An introduction to scaling properties of groups and clusters of galaxies

A multiwavelength project to investigate substructure in clusters of galaxies, led by Graham Smith at Birmingham and driven by gravitational lensing analysis of Hubble Space Telescope (HST) data.

REXCESS

The Representative XMM-Newton Cluster Structure Survey (REXCESS)  is an XMM-Newton Large Programme to study a representative sample of 33 galaxy clusters, selected from the REFLEX Cluster Survey. More information about the project can be found in this paper.
