Help under ASTERIX is available in three formats; via the application asthelp, on the Internet
( xastehlp) or from a paper document (SUN 98). The source material for all of these format
originates in the same file asthelp.raw ( /star/asterix/src/help - under RCS).
However, development work on this file is best done in the subdirectory new. Edit the file testhelp.raw then build the VMS-style help database with the script mk_build. The results can then by viewed with the application hlpread. The envornmental variable $AST_HELP_PATH determines where the reading application will look for database files.
Final changes to the help can be install with the script mk_install, though to be fully permenant the orignal source file must be replaced by hand in the parent's RCS directory.
