Energy Mapping

PSPC data contains energy as well as spatial information. It is possible to indicate this on an image by producing an energy map. This may be done in two ways :

1. Produce a spectral image, with 4-8 spectral channels.
2. Run enmap with a suitable threshold (See the help entry).
3. Plot the result with idisplay.

or by producing a 3-colour image,

1. Produce a low energy (chns: 8-40), medium energy (41-100) and high energy (101-200) image of the same region.
2. Combine these with mkcolim.
3. Display after using icolour rgb.

The first method is suitable for low signal to noise data whereas the 3-colour image method works well on bright objects.
