Getting Help

This document provides recipes for specific data analysis tasks, as well as descriptions of the data formats. It does not provide detailed help on individual ASTERIX ROSAT commands.

Such help is provided by the on-line help system, invoked by the command

       > asthelp

asthelp attempts to provide complete information on all ASTERIX commands, as well as more general guidance on how to get started with ASTERIX, where to find documentation, information specific to the current ASTERIX release, etc..

With this release of ASTERIX, a hypertext version of asthelp is also available. This can be invoked with the command

       > xasthelp
