Chandra spies on deviant clusters at 0.15 < z < 0.5 by Ben Maughan (CfA)

In a sample of 131 clusters observed with Chandra we find a significant population of clusters at moderate redshifts (0.15 < z < 0.5) that deviate strongly from the scaling relations that characterise both local and high-redshift (z>0.6) clusters. This has important implications for the study of cluster evolution and the use of clusters to constrain cosmological parameters. We discuss possible causes for these deviations, including the effects of mergers, cool cores, and AGN activity.
