Satellite

The ROSAT satellite is in a 96 minute period, low earth orbit having an inclination of 53o. It is a 3-axis stabilised spacecraft with two co-aligned telescope systems. The main telescope is the X-Ray Telescope (XRT), having at its focus a carousel which can place one of two Position Sensitive Proportional Counters (PSPC) or a micro channel plate High Resolution Imager (HRI) in the beam. There is also a Wide Field Camera (WFC) for EUV astronomy co-mounted with the XRT. This document deals only with the analysis of data from the XRT. SUN 62 describes the analysis of data from the WFC.
