About me
I am an Associate Professor in the Institute for Gravitational Wave Astronomy at the University of Birmingham. My research focuses on the theoretical modelling of transient and high-energy phenomena, using a combination of analytical techniques and numerical simulations.
I currently lead the ERC Starting Grant project “Unleash-TDEs”, which aims to develop a comprehensive theoretical understanding of the emission from tidal disruption events and thereby maximise the scientific return from current and upcoming observations.
Before Birmingham, I was a Marie Curie fellow in the Theoretical Astrophysics Group of the Niels Bohr International Academy in Copenhagen, having previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the TAPIR group at the California Institute of Technology. I obtained my PhD from Leiden Observatory in October 2017.
