The ASTERIX File Structure

The ASTERIX top level development directory contains a number of modules each of which has its own directory, plus one directory for each architecture on which the system is built. The latter directories have the same name as their corresponding $SYSTEM value. Source files for modules are broken up into different directories depending on their type. The system has been designed so that a directory contains only one class of file (eg. applications, script or data) which enables the make-files required to build those files be parameterised using the GEN_make facility.
